Tamassa

Part of the highly acclaimed Naiade Resorts, the Tamassa opened in December of 2007 and stands at the end of a long avenue of mature coconut palms, towering skywards. It is located at Bel Ombre on the south-west coast of the island, set in 9 hectares of beautifully landscaped gardens. Bordered by a long sandy beach and breathtaking blue lagoon, the Tamassa combines traditional exterior with stylish contemporary interior design. One huge bonus of this resort is that every one of the 214 rooms has a balcony or terrace, facing the Indian Ocean – so nobody misses out on the great view.

The main restaurant has uninterrupted views of the lagoon and over looks the main swimming pool. It offers Creole, Asian & Mediterranean cuisine, providing something to suit everyone. The Tamassa is ideally located for golf lovers, as it has an 18-hole championship golf course nearby. There is also a variety of land based activities and water sports available, these include: windsurfing, pedal boats, kayaks, mini-sails, snorkelling, glass-bottom boat rides, water skiing, aquagym, library, beach volleyball, table tennis, bowls and floodlit tennis. For a fee you can also enjoy: speed boat tours, scuba diving, big game fishing, mountain biking, snooker and a computer room.

You could of course just unwind in the spa, which comes complete with 16 treatment rooms, whirlpool, sauna and hamman. Embracing the concept of The Tamassa Hotel, ‘SENSES’ is based on an integration of Mauritian Island ambiance and contemporary Offering treatments and rituals based on indigenous flowers, fruits and vegetables; stimulation of the senses.
