Many congratulations! You have made one of the biggest decisions of your lives, and we are very pleased that you have chosen Dream Weddings to help plan your very special day by deciding marry abroad, you have automatically taken away all the stress by asking us to arrange your Wedding, not only that, you have reduced the amount of stress and cost of your average UK Wedding. Dream Weddings are on hand every step of the way so that you can sit back and relax and allow us look after all your arrangements.

Once you have chosen your ideal destination, we recommend that you book your holiday and request your preferred wedding date straight away. There is nothing worse than finding out that your preferred day has already been taken. Look at booking this very special occasion at least a year in advance. This will help ensure you get your preferred date (and time if required).

Helping you along the way, use our step by step guide in guiding you through your Wedding and honeymoon

Step 1 - Choose a destination

Dream Weddings features one of the most comprehensive selection of overseas weddings. Approximately a year in advance decide on the type of location and venue you would like. Once you have both agreed on your dream destination, get it booked - this is very important and you will not have to worry about not having flights or hotels available. You will be able to confirm your wedding date as soon as your holiday is booked.

Step 2 - Invite guests

Do you have friends or family that would like to join in your celebration? Then now is the time to get them booked. Dream Weddings can help you booking your guests. Getting them booked early will also avoid any disappointment if availability or the holiday.

Step 3 - Check required documents

Now is a good time to make sure you have all the required documents that will be needed by the overseas authorities. Check that your passport has at least 6 months validity or more after you return home. Get all that old paperwork out of your drawers, making sure that you have original birth certificates and any other legal papers that you may need. (see our legal requirements page) It amy also be beneficial to check for any inoculations that you might need.

Step 4 - You wedding confirmation pack

Around 4 months before you should receive your final wedding confirmation pack. This will reconfirm your date, time and venue of the wedding as well as re-confirm any extras that you may have requested for your special day as well as go through any additional legal appointments that may take place in resort. This will also be the chance to check that we have received all the documents in order for us to arrange your wedding licence. We will of course advise you in there are any outstanding documents.

Step 5 - Luggage, itinerary & tickets

1 month before travel, you should be getting very excited and looking forward to your magical holiday. Check you have suitable luggage carriers for your wedding outfits. Soon after, you should receive your holiday itinerary & tickets. Make sure you read these carefully and alert us if there are any discrepancies.

Step 6 - Arrive at your destination

On arrival at your hotel, you will be met by the hotels resident wedding coordinator (in some destinations such as New York, a welcome letter will be waiting for you to confirm a meeting place & time) They will go through the itinerary of your big day, help you choose the type of flowers, visit the setting and go through those last minute details.

Step 7 - Relax!

Relax! You've made it! Everything is in hand, soak up some sun, go shopping or even take a couple of excursions. Take in all that is on offer in your destination. Why not have a spa treatment for the both of you? Just as long you are happy and relaxed and are looking forward to your special day.
